site update
July 13th, 2009

Iam always making tiny improvements to this website as an ongoing project. Until now I’ve resisted the urge to give photography a strong presence on this website. For me it’s always been about telling the story and the photos were just something to add some colour. And of course to tell their own story.

On the other hand I’m seeing some interesting and beautiful things which I wanted to share. Usually I kept my pictures strictly on Facebook but with the downfall of Facebook, Flickr and other similar services also slightly wobbly (and not to mention slow) I decided to succumb to the photos. While I will still keep them off the front page those looking for it can now go to Photos in the menu at the top. Also, clicking the title of the post on the front page will show images in newer posts in full size. Enjoy!

ok so now that I know the reason your Facebook has not been updated, let me just say I have been trying to get u a b-day gift and since you told me that u were @ Starbucks last time i thought GREAT!!! I know what to get him. So I tried getting you a Starbucks card number or something you could get through the internet, but apparently that’s not possible in China. Everywhere else but China! I even e-mailed Caren.Li@starbucks.cn (Caren Jing Li) the women in charge of Starbucks in China asking her if she could help and no luck. So I’m out of options =( sorry but I just wanted you to know I do wish you a happy way early b-day and that it’s the thought that counts right ??? XX

Wow, Dan, that is such a terrific thing to do! And I’m surprised it didn’t work. They have basically got cards in every single store here. Every supermarket, restaurant, shopping mall, ice skating rink, cinema and arcade has a card of some sorts. But not Starbucks (called Xing Ba Ke in Chinese, Xing in Chinese is star). What would the card have done? Get me cheaper espressos? Because I’m all for that and it would’ve been one hell of a good birthday gift!

And thanks again! And nice to see you dropping your comments on here. Do it more often!
Say hi to Elyce for me.
    Kisses.

Well Caren Jing Li was very pleasant she did respond, and she told me that Starbucks China has not launched their Gift Cards yet.
